State Championship Bracket Assignment Guidelines

To be nominated you must meet the following criteria...

1. WIAA, USA Lacrosse and WILOA Member in good standing (has paid all dues)

2. Complete USA Lacrosse Online Officials Training including passing NFHS Test

3. Must have complete uniform (Timer, Long/Short Sleeve Shirt, Black Jacket, etc.)

Qualifications – Requirements

1.  Regional Semifinals – 4 Games

a. 5 Officials from Madison Area

b. 5 Officials from Milwaukee Area

c. 2 Officials from Bay Valley

d. Qualifications

i. Crew Chief - Must have at least prior Quarter Final Experience

ii. U/FJ - Must have prior State Playoff Experience

iii. Must have completed USAL NFHS Test on time with a minimum score of 90 (all officials)

iv. Laredo 3 Official, or at least 5 games (including play offs) using 3-man-mechanics experience

v. Must be available at least 1 hour prior to game time

vi. Must have worked at least 6 Varsity Games in the regular season

NOTE - Assignor may ask for help as needed from other areas

Regional Finals - 8 Games

a. Primarily Assigned by Regional Assignors

b. No more than 2 games for BVLA

c. Qualifications

i. Must have completed USAL Test on time with a minimum score of 85

ii. Laredo 3 Official, or at least 3 games (including playoffs) using 3-man-mechanics

iii. Must be available to be onsite 45 minutes prior to game time

iv. Must have worked at least 6 Varsity Games in the regular season

NOTE - Crew Chief – If possible assignor should ask for help from other areas to have some form of split crews

Sectional Finals – 4 Games

a. President / BOD Assigns

i. 5 Officials from Madison, 5 Officials from Milwaukee, 2 Officials from BVLA

ii. State Championship Crew should be in this 12 and work together if possible

b. Qualifications

i. Crew Chief –Laredo 3, or have worked at least 2 years of State playoff quarterfinals or better.

ii. U/FJ - Must have prior State Playoff Experience

iii. Must have completed USL Test on time with a minimum score of 90

iv. Laredo 3 Official, or at least 5 games (including playoffs) using 3-man-mechanics experience

v. Must be available at least 1 hour prior to game time

vi. Must have worked at least 6 Varsity Games in the regular season

State Semifinals – 2 Games

a. 3 Officials from Milwaukee

b. 2 Officials from Madison

c. 1 Officials from Bay Valley

d. State Championship Officials Should be avoided – or 1 official from crew on each game

i. Crew Chief for State Championship should not work

e. Qualifications

i. Crew Chief – Have worked at least 2 years of State playoff quarterfinals or better.

ii. Must have completed USL Test on time with a minimum score of 90

iii. Laredo 3 Official, or at least 5 games (including play offs) using 3-man-mechanics

iv. MUST be available at least 1 hour prior to game time

v. Must have worked at least 8 Varsity Games in the regular season

State Championship Game 

a. 2 Officials from Madison, 1 Official from Milwaukee

i. Madison/Milwaukee - Crew Chief

ii. BVLA – CBO/Alternate

b. 3 On Field Officials– Should have worked at least 1 State Championship Playoff

Game and 1 Invitational Tournament Game Together, if possible

c. Qualifications

i. Crew Chief – worked at least 3 years of State playoffs – with prior State Semifinal Experience or better.

ii. Laredo 3 Official, or at least 5 games (including playoffs) using 3-man-mechanics

iii. Must have completed USAL Test on time with a minimum score of 90

iv. MUST be available at least 90 Minutes Prior to game time

v. Active NILOA Official or Must have worked at least 8 Varsity Games in the regular season
